Apple Watch Battery Draining Fast on WatchOS 10? Try this.

Unpairing might help solve issues on your Apple Watch

According to Apple, WatchOS 10 was supposed to be the biggest update since the introduction of the Apple Watch. While that may be true, it’s also been the most buggy and problematic update in years. I’d like my old watch back that simply worked and had a battery life that could last all day.

Like many users are reporting online, ever since updating to WatchOS 10 my watch has suffered from a drastically decreased battery life. In the past I never had to worry about the battery of my watch during the day, now it will die in the evening or sometimes in the late afternoon if I’ve been active. I’ve also lost the functionality of weather-related complications on my watch face, sometime I usually check multiple times a day. Basically the few key features that make me wear my watch every single day are now ruined.

How to resolve issues caused by the WatchOS 10 update

Simple yet inconvenient, unpairing your watch from your iPhone is worth a shot if you’re experiencing issues. The process is easy but takes a while and involves a lot of loading screens and waiting around. In my case unpairing did improve battery life a little bit but it still seems to be worse than what it was before updating to WatchOS 10. Check out the video below for a quick tutorial on how to unpaid (and re-pair) your watch.

Some are reporting this helps, but some users say they’re still having difficulties after unpairing. Some have experimented with the differences between restoring your settings from a backup vs. setting up the watch from scratch.
