Apple Watch Weather Not Working? Try These 3 Steps.

Try this if your weather complications aren’t working on WatchOS 10.

The WatchOS 10 update has been far from perfect. Many users suffer from excessive battery drain and some users can’t get weather complications to display weather information properly anymore.

Updating to the latest version of WatchOS is always the first step to take when troubleshooting these things. WatchOS 10.1 should fix the weather issue for most people but in case that doesn’t do it, here’s a quick tutorial on a couple of quick resets you can do to get weather complications working again.

If your Apple Watch doesn’t show weather info

Step 1 – Make sure you’re running the latest version of WatchOS

On your iPhone open up the Watch app and go to General – Software Update. Install any pending updates if you’re not on the latest version. If that doesn’t help proceed to Step 2.

Step 2 – Reset location access for the Weather app

On your iPhone go to Settings – Privacy & Security – Location Services and search for the Weather app in the list. Memorize what setting you have selected under “Allow location access”, change that setting to “Never” and then switch back to old setting. This should reset the location access for the weather app, fixing weather complications on your watch. If that still doesn’t help, proceed to Step 3.

Step 3 – Reset location settings system-wide

On your iPhone go to Settings – General and all the way on the bottom choose “Transfer or Reset iPhone”. Resetting your whole phone might sound scary, but the nice thing about this feature is that you can only reset a particular setting on the phone. So no need to worry, we’re not going to reset everything on your phone, only the location settings. After choosing “Transfer or Reset iPhone” hit the Reset button on the bottom and choose “Reset Location & Privacy”. This will reset all functions related to location data, which is something your weather app is using to determine your location. This does reset location settings system-wide so if you have other apps using your location, you’ll probably have to give permissions to each app again after doing the reset.
