If you’ve been thinking about buying new tech or upgrading your existing products, Black Friday is probably the best time of the year for upgrades. Apple usually does not discount their products and their own Black Friday deals are focused on offering a gift card if you purchase certain products at full retail price. If you prefer to buy directly from Apple that might be a good opportunity to gear a small gift card, but usually you’ll get a better deal by buying from a retailer. That’s where the real Black Friday discounts are. Here are our top picks for this year’s Black Friday deals for Apple products.

Best Black Friday deal for Apple laptops

I’ve been using my M1 MacBook Air as my primary computer for a while now and it’s amazing. It replaced my old fully loaded 5K retina iMac and it just works really, really well. I’ve always been more of a desktop computer guy but I will say it’s nice to use a laptop on a desk with a big external monitor and then being able to just unplug the computer and take it with you anywhere you go.

Here are a couple of hot deals on MacBook Air. I would argue that for most users MacBook Air is the perfect laptop and these models are perfect for the users who want the blazing-fast speed of Apple’s M1 and M2 processors without paying an arm and a leg for it.

M1 MacBook Air Black Friday Deals

M1 MacBook Air 13″ Display, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 3 Years of AppleCare+

Amazon currently has the base model M1 MacBook Air on sale for $888.99. For comparison, the same MacBook Air bought directly from Apple would cost me $1,279.19 so we’re talking about almost a $400 discount. This is the same exact model I’m using myself but it comes with three years of AppleCare+, which alone is worth $170. If you’re not familiar with the AppleCare+ protection plan it basically extends your warranty to three years instead of the standard one-year warranty and in most cases it also covers accidental damage. My wife for example has AppleCare+ on her Apple Watch and when she took a fall and cracked her watch screen pretty badly, Apple replaced it under AppleCare.

M2 MacBook Air Black Friday Deals

If you want a little more speed, you can now score the M2 MacBook Air for $1,238. Again for comparison, the same MacBook Air with 3-year AppleCare+ from Apple will cost you $1,659 so you’re getting a $421 discount (sales tax in different states might affect the total prices a bit, my pricing is based on California sales tax).

This is the 2023 model with the better, faster M2 processor and comes with the larger 15.3″ display. Other specs are the same, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. And just like the M1 version, this one includes AppleCare+ for three years.

iPad Black Friday Deals

If you’re looking for a new iPad now is your chance to get the 10th Generation iPad or $403, down 22% from the normal price of $518. Just like the MacBook Air models we talked about earlier, this comes with AppleCare+ protection plan, although it’s worth nothing for iPads the plan covers two years versus the 3-year coverage on MacBook Air models.

Apple Watch Black Friday Deals

This might be an unpopular opinion but with everything Apple makes the Apple Watch might just be my favorite product. I’m still using my Series 5 Apple Watch daily and it’s been on my wrist every single day since I bought it back in 2019. I use it to check weather conditions, read text messages, use Siri to set reminders, ask for directions, check sports scores, track my workouts and sleep, the list just goes on and on. I’ve been tempted to upgrade to a newer model but with the way my old Series 5 is still working I think I’ll hold onto it for a few more years at least. But if you’re on the market for an Apple Watch we have some great deals for the new Series 9.

Apple AirPods Black Friday Deals

If you’re considering buying a pair of AirPods now would be a great time to pull the trigger. If you’re not familiar with them here’s my review on my 1st generation AirPods – the sound quality is great for such a small product. They come with a nice charging case where you store them whenever you’re not using them and the case has the option for wireless charging which is awesome. The regular AirPods can let through some background noise and even though they stay in place most times, even when being active, I’ve noticed mine start moving and slipping a little when I’m running. I love how they connect automatically to my iPhone, Apple Watch, computers and even my Apple TV if I’m watching a show late at night when the kids are sleeping and I need to keep it down. They work with Siri and have a built-in microphone so you can take phone calls and use them as a hands-free device. AirPods together with Siri will also read all your notifications out loud while wearing them so whenever I’m on a run and my wife texts me I don’t need to look at my phone, my AirPods will tell me what she’s saying.

One thing I wish my AirPods had is noise cancellation. It makes a huge difference and it’s the reason I’m currently planning to upgrade to a pair of AirPods Pro, which have active noise cancellation, richer audio experience and they’re dust, sweat, and water resistant.

I don’t have any experience with AirPods Max but I know a lot of people swear by these headphones. AirPods Max is Apple’s high-end over-the-ear type headphone that gives you the best audio quality, spacial audio, long battery life and state-of-the-art acoustic design. People are so passionate about these headphones that there’s a dedicated subreddit for AirPods Max where people are sharing their experiences with these headphones. Just as you’d expect, they’re expensive. But now you can get them for a nice $99 discount.

Last but not least let’s talk about AirTags. What are AirTags? It’s a little tag about the size of a bottle cap that can be used as a tracking device. You’ll place an AirTag on something important like your keys, connect it to your Apple ID, and now you can use your iPhone to locate it anytime, anywhere. When you’re in close proximity to the AirTag your phone will give you accurate directions showing which way and how far your lost item is. If it’s further away (based on my experience approximately 40ft or more) your phone will show an approximate location on a map. What’s cool about AirTags is that they utilize other people’s iPhones to update the location, so if you were to drop your keys in a bus without noticing, your AirTag would use the iPhones of nearby people to update its location and you’d be able to see where your keys are in real-time.

I have and AirTag on my keys, in my car, on a backpack and on my cat’s collar. My cat is probably the one I use the most, so whenever he runs away or just goes hiding I use the Find My app on my iPhone to find him. You can also play a sound on a lost AirTag and my cat usually knows that when the sound comes on, it’s time to go home.
