5G allows impressive speeds using wireless networks and we’re at a point where wireless 5G connections can seriously compete and in many cases beat your traditional internet service providers. You’ll get impressive speeds, mobility, low pricing usually with no long contracts, and the best part – no data caps.

I was curious about 5G connections but not fully convinced if a wireless connection would be sufficient to handle all my network traffic. I work with heavy video files every day, plus I have a household full of devices, all connected to the same network. I was a little skeptical about how a 5G connection could handle it all or if it would be an upgrade from my traditional hardwire connection that had high pricing and a 1TB data cap per month. After about a year all I can say is it was the best switch I’ve made. I’m getting double the speed for half the price and unlimited data. I’m blazing through 3TB of data on most months with zero issues. No extra fees or charges and my internet never goes out.

Needless to say, the performance of 5G Internet depends on your location and the network coverage you have in that specific area. Luckily many carriers are offering 5G services that you can cancel any time in case you’re running into coverage issues.

In the video linked above you’ll see our quick performance test on my 5G Home Internet. We start by running a speed test, then downloading a full feature film, a couple of 6K and 8K raw video files, and finally testing the upload speed by uploading some video footage in the cloud.
