Close your rings even if you forgot to record a workout
Can you add workouts to Apple Fitness if you forgot to record them on your phone or Apple Watch? Yes! Inputting workouts manually to Apple Fitness is easy, but the process is not exactly intuitive.
It all happens in the Health app
Your first assumption might be to head into the Fitness app and manually add workouts there. Nope, can’t do that. That would be the obvious way if you ask me, but for some reason Apple doesn’t allow this. Instead, you’ll need to navigate to the Health app and find the “Workouts” section within the health app.

Once you’re in the Workouts section, you can manually input workout data. You can choose from a variety of sports and then input your metrics. If you didn’t wear your Apple Watch or simply forgot to record a workout, you’ll have to give your best estimate for things like calories burned or workout length, but personally I find it pretty easy to look back at my past workouts and use those metrics as a baseline.
Once you enter all the data and add a workout, it’ll get recorded in your Health app. And if you jump back to the Fitness app and give it a minute to refresh, your new workout will automatically update there too, and your activity rings will now include the manually input workout data as well.
